ZWO, a developer of astronomy imaging equipment and solutions, will join the 5th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics for Juniors (IOAA-jr 2026), taking place at Ubon Ratchathani University, Thailand, from November 1 to 8, 2026. The international event brings together young astronomy enthusiasts from more than 25 countries, providing a platform for scientific learning, academic exchange, and cross-cultural connections.
ZWO’s team will be on site with a hands-on Seestar experience booth, where students, educators, and young astronomers can try the smart telescopes for themselves, and will join the event’s Astro Night Party to demonstrate the technology to participants and team leaders from across the region. Through these on-site engagements, ZWO aims to contribute to the promotion of astronomy education and encourage younger generations to explore the universe through observation and scientific discovery.
Bringing Smart Astronomy Closer to Young Learners
At the heart of ZWO’s participation is the Seestar S50 Pro, its flagship smart telescope designed to make astronomical observation and astrophotography more accessible. Combining an integrated optical system, imaging capabilities, and intelligent observation features, the Seestar S50 Pro offers a streamlined way to explore celestial objects and capture images of the night sky. By bringing smart astronomy technology into an international educational setting, ZWO hopes to spark curiosity about the cosmos and help more young people discover the possibilities of practical astronomical observation.
Supporting the Next Generation of Astronomy Enthusiasts
ZWO believes that accessible technology can play an important role in connecting people with astronomy. Beyond providing tools for observation and imaging, the company is committed to supporting astronomy communities and educational initiatives that encourage curiosity, hands-on learning, and a deeper appreciation of the universe.
IOAA-jr 2026 offers an opportunity to bring together young people who share an interest in astronomy and astrophysics, while fostering international exchange through science. ZWO is pleased to contribute to this shared goal and looks forward to supporting more opportunities for people of different ages and backgrounds to explore the night sky.
